Propylene Glycol (PG) vs Vegetable Glycerin (VG) Electronic Cigarettes
Propylene Glycol (PG) vs Vegetable Glycerin (VG) Electronic CigarettesHave you been wondering the what ingredients are in your electronic cigarettes? For some, it is extremely important to know and with others as long as it works, that is all that matters. People usually tend to what to know what ingredients go into each cartomizer and since World Vapor has several brands to choose from we thought we give you all the information.
E-Cigarette VariablesE-Cigarettes have many different variables that you should be aware of. This is because all e-liquids are not all created equally. Most e-cigarette users are mainly concerned with the types of flavors, the amount of vapor volume you receive, how the throat hit is, esthetics of the e-cigarette, and most importantly not having leaks or a nasty taste and smell. Each e-liquid has a different nicotine strength and it varies from 24mg (high nicotine) to 0mg (no nicotine), and the nicotine does takes up about ten percent of the eliquid composition. Another ten percent of the eliquid is made up of the flavoring, and the rest consists of water and either PG or VG.
Propylene Glycol (PG) vs Vegetable Glycerin (VG)There has been quite a bit of talk around propylene glycol (PG) and vegetable glycerin (VG) and how it affects different e-cigarette users. So what does this all mean in terms of different smoking cessations? Well, both components propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin are what produce the cloud of vapor you get when you exhale. In addition they also carry the active ingredients of nicotine, flavoring, and water which is needed for the perfect vapor.
Propylene Glycol (PG)Propylene Glycol has been around quite a long time. If you have ever been to a high school dance, rock concert, and other event that uses fog machines then you have been inhaling vaporized propylene glycol similar to an electronic cigarette. There have never been any bans of fog machines that we know of or any other risks associated with fog machines. Propylene Glycol is known for its better flavor and great throat hit. It is much more runny and doesn't produce as much vapor cloud as you will find in a vegetable glycerin eliquid or cartomizer.
Sensitivity to Propylene Glycol (PG)Those of us that have a sensitivity to PG should use a eliquid or cartomizer that uses Vegetable Glycerin instead of Propylene Glycol. Sensitivities can include dry mouth, sore throat, or an increase of thirst.
Vegetable Glycerin (VG)Vegetable Glycerin is a newer ingredient that has been introduced. Vegetable glycerin is much thicker than the propylene glycol and produces a much thicker cloud of vapor. The flip side to having this great cloud of vapor is that the atomizers heats up much quicker and requires more cleaning. Because the VG tends to "gum up" your atomizer, it will decrease the life of it. VG is thicker and will tend to cause the atomizer to heat up quicker and will require more atomizer cleaning. You can expect the life to decrease with VG.
