If you have ever been to a high school dance, rock concert, and other event that uses fog machines then you have been inhaling vaporized propylene glycol similar to an electronic cigarette. There have never been any bans of fog machines that we know of or any other risks associated with fog machines. Propylene Glycol is known for its better flavor and great throat hit. It is much more runny and doesn't produce as much vapor cloud as you will find in a vegetable glycerin eliquid or cartomizer.
Sensitivity to Propylene Glycol (PG)Those of us that have a sensitivity to PG should use a eliquid or cartomizer that uses Vegetable Glycerin instead of Propylene Glycol. Sensitivities can include dry mouth, sore throat, or an increase of thirst.
Vegetable Glycerin (VG)Vegetable Glycerin is a newer ingredient that has been introduced. Vegetable glycerin is much thicker than the propylene glycol and produces a much thicker cloud of vapor. The flip side to having this great cloud of vapor is that the atomizers heats up much quicker and requires more cleaning. Because the VG tends to "gum up" your atomizer, it will decrease the life of it. VG is thicker and will tend to cause the atomizer to heat up quicker and will require more atomizer cleaning. You can expect the life to decrease with VG.
